About Sunrise Scholastics

At Sunrise Scholastics, our mission is to empower students with the writing, communication, and critical thinking skills they need to thrive in school, college, and beyond.

Through engaging educational programs, personalized support, and a commitment to equity and access, we help students develop confidence in their voices, tell their stories authentically, and pursue their academic and professional goals.

Sunrise Scholastics was founded by an educator, writer, and education product leader passionate about helping students develop strong voices and achieve their academic goals.

Ms. Soetan holds a B.A. from Princeton University and an M.A. in Writing from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London.

Throughout her career, she has designed and scaled educational programs serving students across more than 25 countries and currently works directly with students as a co-curricular instructor at Princeton University.

Through Sunrise Scholastics, she combines her background in education, storytelling, and student development to help young people become confident communicators and successful applicants.

Sunrise Scholastics partners with schools, nonprofits, and community organizations to deliver high-impact educational programming focused on writing, college readiness, literacy, and career development.

Our programs are designed to complement existing student support services while providing engaging, outcomes-driven learning experiences that help students build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and prepare for future academic and professional opportunities.

We are particularly passionate about supporting first-generation, underrepresented, and historically underserved students as they pursue their educational goals.

College Essay Writing helps students craft compelling, authentic college admissions essays that showcase their unique experiences, values, and aspirations.

Creative Writing & Publishing introduces students to the art of poetry and creative expression while building essential writing skills. Throughout the course, students write original poems and collaborate with their peers to publish a class poetry collection.

Book Club fosters a love of reading through thoughtful exploration of literature. Students strengthen their reading comprehension, critical thinking, and communication skills while connecting with peers and discovering the joy of great books.
